Lieutenant General Osama Rabiee, Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), announced the arrival of the Integrated Offshore Supply & Oilfield Services Vessel FAKHR 1 at Timsah Shipbuilding Company after her successful transit through the Suez Canal, arriving from China following a non-stop 33-day delivery voyage.

The vessel was constructed at Ningde Tai Jinzhou Yuajin Shipyard and is scheduled to join the Suez Canal Authority's marine fleet.

FAKHR 1 is the first Egyptian vessel equipped to operate as a Geo Survey Vessel, supporting marine geotechnical investigations and offshore oil & gas exploration. The vessel represents a significant step toward strengthening Egypt's offshore capabilities while reducing reliance on foreign-owned survey vessels.

Following outfitting with diving equipment and final acceptance inspections, the vessel will commence operations in Abu Rudeis, Red Sea, under contract with Petrobel, with commercial operations scheduled to begin in July 2026.

The project reflects the Suez Canal Authority's strategic vision to diversify revenue sources, expand its marine services portfolio, and enhance the capabilities of its affiliated companies through investment in advanced offshore technology.
